Asphaltene Deposition during CO2 Flooding in Ultralow Permeability Reservoirs: A Case Study from Changqing Oil Field

چکیده

Asphaltene deposition is a common phenomenon during CO2 flooding in ultralow permeability reservoirs. The deposited asphaltene occupies the pore volume and decreases permeability, resulting serious formation damage well productivity. It urgent to investigate mechanisms, adverse effects, preventive measures. However, few investigations have been systematically conducted by now. In this research, precipitation mechanisms effects were comprehensively investigated using experimental numerical methods. To study of pressure, content, temperature on qualitatively quantitatively, microscope visible detection experiment PVT cell static firstly conducted. porosity resulted from also studied core experiment. Secondly, simulation models developed validated data. Finally, case Changqing oil field was presented analyze characteristic results showed that increases with increased pressure before reaching minimum miscible (MMP) gets peak value around MMP, while slowly. content. variation trend similar under influence temperature. shows water-altering-gas (WAG) high injection rate suffers more compared WAG low rate, for as MMP. continuous worst choice, sweep efficiency most severe damage. Thus, optimal proposed maintain productivity reduce developing

A new investigation on modeling of permeability reduction during CO2 flooding processes in sandstone oil reservoirs

Permeability reduction in oil reservoirs during primary oil recovery and using the enhanced oil recovery methods are complicated problem which most of the oil field in worlds has encountered. In this work, a modified model based on four phase black oil model (oil, water, gas, and asphaltene) was developed to account permeability reduction during CO2 flooding in cylindrical coordinates around a ...

RESEARCH ON CO2 FLOODING FOR IMPROVED OIL RECOVERY IN WATER FLOODING ABANDONED RESERVOIRS

CO2 injection is an effective technique for improved oil recovery in light oil reservoirs, especially for water flooding abandoned reservoirs. In this study, the lower part of Es1 reservoirs in Pucheng oilfield was introduced as the target reservoir. By studying the minimum miscible pressure in CO2 flooding, the reservoir could achieve miscible flooding. Long core displacement experiments prove...

A Study on the Mechanism of Urea-assisted Steam Flooding in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

The Biqian-10 block, located in Henan Oilfield of Sinopic, contains many thin and interbedded reservoirs, which have been operated by cyclic steam stimulation for 20 years or more. Therefore, it is a challenge to implement the conventional steam flooding. In order to improve the recovery of steam flooding, urea was used to assist steam flooding. Urea can decompose into CO2 and NH3, which are be...

CO2 EOR and Storage in Oil Reservoirs

CO2 EOR and Storage in Oil Reservoirs — CO2 injection into tertiary oil reservoirs has been widely accepted as an effective technique for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and has been used by the oil industry for over 40 years. Concerns over greenhouse gas emissions are leading to the investigation and realisation of its potential as a carbon storage method in recent years. With the right reservoir...
